It’s April, so here we’re going to focus on the insects that can be caught in both the northern and southern hemispheres this month to give to Blathers or sell.

Bugs are a little trickier than fish in that they can be found all over the island in various ways. Here are what the locations mean in the tables below so you have some more context:

Flying — These insects will be flying freely about the island. On trees — These insects will be hanging out on tree trunks. In trees — These insects must be shaken down from trees to be caught. Under rocks — These insects will pop out of rocks when you hit them. Tree stumps — These insects will be found sitting atop tree stumps. Flowers — These insects will be found hanging out on flowers. Underground — These insects must be heard and then dug up, without a crack in the ground. Near lights — These insects flutter around the lights on buildings. Rocks at beach — These insects are found on the rock formations on your island’s beaches.

And finally: Bugs that will not be available next month are marked with an asterisk (*) by their name!

Northern Hemisphere April Insects

(!) Peacock Butterflies are found specifically on blue, purple, or black windflowers. (!!) Tarantulas are aggressive and will attack you, so creep up on them for your best shot at safety and a catch. (!!!) Wasps drop with their nests and will sting you immediately once they fall unless you run into a building or catch them with your net.

Southern Hemisphere April Insects

(!) Scorpions are aggressive and will attack you, so creep up on them for your best shot at safety and a catch. (!!) Wasps drop with their nests and will sting you immediately once they fall unless you run into a building or catch them with your net.
