Our Animal Crossing shrubs guide breaks down when Leif comes to town and what each type of shrub available is in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons Shrubs Guide
When and Where Leif Visits
Leif comes to your island the same as any other wandering tourist like Sahara or Kicks. It seems like he’s available today for everyone, in honor of Nature Day and the new update. We don’t know if he’ll be around tomorrow too, or if he disappears after the event is over.
If we had to guess, based on previous games, we’d wager Leif probably sets up shop with the Nooklings again after a while. We’ll update when we know for sure, though.
When he is in town, Leif will set up in front of Resident Services at the start of each day (5 a.m.) and stay there until 4:59 a.m. the following morning. The main attraction is, of course, the variety of flowering shrubs he sells for 280 Bells apiece, but he also offers rarer flowers like cosmos and mums.
On top of that, he’ll buy your weeds for double the Nooklings’ price — 20 Bells per bundle.
Animal Crossing Shrubs: Varieties and Bloom Season
Leif mentions his special offer today is the azalea shrub, which is also in season. Unfortunately, he doesn’t say what the bloom seasons are for the other shrubs he sells, but that’s where we come in.
Here are all the Animal Crossing bushes you can get and when they bloom. Note that these are all the ones we know of for now, though Nintendo could add more in future updates as well.
Spring Bushes
Pink Azalea White Azalea
Summer Bushes
Red Hibiscus Yellow Hibiscus Blue Hydrangea Pink Hydrangea
Fall Bushes
Orange Tea Olive Yellow Tea Olive
Winter Bushes
Pink Camellia Red Camellia Holly
You can still buy and plant shrubs out of season. They just won’t have any flowers (or berries, in holly’s case) until their season arrives.
Once you’ve got your desired shrub, you can plant it the same as you would any other flower. We don’t yet know whether there’s any kind of cross-breeding you can do with shrubs, so watering may or may not be something you want to do.
And as always, it’s best to dig holes for where you want to plant each bush, just so you have better control over where they end up.
Finally, you’ll get some extra Nook Miles for planting shrubs: a big Nook Miles+ bonus in honor of Nature Day and then a regular series of Nook Miles bonuses for planting a set number of bushes.
That’s everything you need to know about Animal Crossing shrubs and how to get them. Be sure to check out our other Animal Crossing: New Horizons guides for more tips and tricks, including:
